One of the most common games used as diversion and pastime are the jigsaw puzzles usually made of cardboard and plastic materials that you can find in many living rooms. People of all ages play with the jigsaw puzzle at any time of the day, for their entertainment; they also play for the educational benefit, especially in the case of young children.
To keep the kids busy and quiet, many moms use the puzzles also to have some peace in the house while she does her usual chores. The moms doing this with the kids have only to check with the kids now and then to keep their interest in the puzzles, and to see if they are correctly doing the assembling of the pieces together.
Since the jigsaw puzzles are attractive to all ages, they come in different forms and in various levels of difficulty in their assembly into the desired picture or image.

usually are sold in convenient boxes with the pieces all jumbled up inside. Only the picture of the assembled puzzle pieces is shown on the box to give to the buyer an idea of what he or she is buying. The assembled picture guides the player in forming up the desired image step by step, until fully formed.
The pieces of the jigsaw puzzle, so cleverly and complicatedly cut with the jigsaw, can force the player to spend long hours trying to make sense of what he is trying to assemble. Sometimes it is not good to do the assembling of the puzzles at night because the challenge of making the pieces fit together to form up the desired picture can be so mind-disturbing, that it may drive away sleep instead of you trying to hit the sack early.
The pastime can make a night owl out of you because you tend to keep thinking of the different pieces to fit together to come up with the desired image. If you take your cup of coffee while doing the puzzle, you could end up practically sleepless through out the night.
This will only be good for you if you do not intend to sleep before a certain time because you are, for example, leaving for a trip and you just want to kill time before proceeding to the airport for your flight. In that case get the more complicated puzzles for you to work on, to ensure that you do not sleep and miss your flight. Anyway, when you are on the plane maybe that is the time you can get some sleep.
Definitely doing the jigsaw puzzles is very different from the usual procedure of counting sheep in order for you to get drowsy and sleepy. If you have to report for work in the morning, and will need to have some sleep to wake up refreshed early in the morning, put off doing that jigsaw puzzle until the weekend, when you can afford to spend all the time for it.
