We always want to take our kids to places where they have never gone before. The world is full of mystery and every piece of land mass that we see on it is bound with rich culture and people. In our elementary days, we get to know different countries and their historical background to understand more of their way of living. Kids can be very admirable when you hear them enumerate the different countries and their corresponding capitals.
I know kids would just love to see the wonders of the world. These amazing places are introduced and well discussed inside the four walls of the classroom. But there could be one way of giving them a more fun way of mastering geography and National Geographic Jigsaw Puzzles are just the way to do it.
You can use this as a tool to achieve mastery of the subject matter and as you put the pieces together you can go ahead and tell them stories of the great past these many places have. Take them to Rome, where they can experience the vast understanding of art. Let them see the importance of the coliseum, the great Basilica and the greatness of Roman architecture. Or better yet, show them the Leaning Tower of Pizza and tell great stories about how this masterpiece came to what it is now.
Use the jigsaw puzzles to understand more of Egypt. As you help them out to put together the pieces to be able to see the beauty of the Ancient Egypt, share stories about the perfect Pyramid, teach them about civilization and the importance of the great Nile River. Let them explore the mystery in mummy making and the great sphinx. Show them how fascinating the world can be by taking them to Egypt.
You can even share with them the Map of United States of America through the use of wonderful floor puzzles. Let them learn almost anything they could get from the 50 states they could see on the map. Teach them how America came to be, how their forefathers fought for independence and why it became the land of the free and the home of the brave.
It is fun to play around with kids jigsaw puzzles. And it is even greater for your kids to learn geography with you. This is a perfect time for story-telling and you can slowly give them the many facts of the different countries we have all over the world. For sure your kids can have the trip of the lifetime and you do not have to travel half way around the globe. They can see it for themselves as they put it together and see how marvelous each country is. It’s like taking them for a trip of a lifetime but it is only done during homework time and in your own living room.
Open up their imagination and let them see how exciting it can be to visit such historical places. For sure your kids would not find geography a boring topic. Difficult jigsaw puzzles come in different sizes and shapes. You can choose puzzles that have more structures on it so that it would be easier for you to insert history. So your kids are not only learning one subject matter but you can use it to teach them more than that.
