Are you self-confessed genius or simply an addict who can't last a day without solving one complicated piece of a problem? For you, jigsawpuzzles are but words in a sentence that are simply disorganized. How many words are there in a sentence by the way? Compare that number to the biggest number of puzzle pieces that you have put together. Amazed? That's how you should look at it of you're a genius, err, an addict.
You have probably encountered what you have thought the most difficult set there is in the market. You probably think that you can outdo everyone who attempts to beat you. You are confident that you can outperform anybody in terms of speed and volume. You are the best because that is what you deem of yourself. There are more difficult kids jigsaw puzzles that you ever knew of. Try to look into these descriptions and see if you have encountered each of them in any of the puzzles that you have solved:
The 0.5” x 0.5”- piece. These are puzzle pieces that could be more or less a third of your thumb in size. The smaller the pieces, the harder it will be for you to identify shapes and figures. Plus, it will be stressful for you to put these pieces together as it will entail some detail in attaching a piece to another and might displace other pieces that are already attached if you won't employ a careful touch.
The black and white problem. Work with shadow-like figures or silhouettes. Colors aid much in associating pieces so working with a duo-tone will add much difficulty. This is strictly black and white, no gray hues involved and no thickening issues. Embossed lines and shading should be discouraged as they may also facilitate in solving difficult jigsaw puzzles.
The artist's sketch. This is problem that involves working on a sketch made of very fine straight lines. For instance, a draft of sunset horizon that is drafted in diagonal lines that has varying thickness. This is a specialty of the black of white puzzle board. This is usually a charcoal or a normal graphite painting. Before you notice it, all pieces are alike except for the variety in thickness of each line.
The washed off version. Washed off images are different from artist's sketches and black and white pictures. They are complicated in terms of the lightness and heaviness of the shade that also comes in a monochrome.
The five-digit jigsaw puzzle. The largest recorded puzzle available in the market has 24,000 pieces. If you can work solve anything like that or larger than that, then that is really amazing. Large puzzles in terms of numbers are difficult to manage. In order to keep them in place, you need to glue each piece on a stable platform. However, this is discourages the readjustment of pieces. Once you put one piece in a place, make sure that's final!
Combination. You may already be an addict on jigsaw puzzles if you have done any of these. But if you have each of these combined, then you're a certified genius!
