How to introduce jigsaw puzzles to your child

3 d Jigsaw puzzles are very good educational toys. They enhance the thinking ability of your child. It also improves his logical thinking and ability to strategize. Although these toys are good for your child, they seldom appeal to them. The images and colors are probably attractive, but they will find sitting down and working on the different parts as boring.

In order to avoid getting this impression, introduce the jigsaw puzzles to your child in a fun way. There are several manners to do this. Here are some tips that you can apply:

  1. Start with simple and fun images with bigger pieces. Do not expect him to be excited with bigger and more difficult images. This can be very overwhelming for your child. Instead, start with simple and familiar images. This will give him the impression that he can do it.  If you see that he likes playing with it, give him floor puzzles that are more challenging.
  2. Use the image of his favorite superhero. You can also look for an image that has his favorite character on it. This will motivate him to finish the puzzle. If he is working on something familiar, he will appreciate what he does.
  3. Use it as a part of a surprise. This is one of the best ways to introduce it to your child. You can use it as a clue for a surprise you are about to give your child. You can instruct your child to solve the puzzle first. He will remember the fun experience he had with the educational puzzles. He will recall this fun experience whenever you buy him a new puzzle.
  4. Use it in your bonding activities. You can also solve it together. Whenever you have the chance to bond with each other, you can allocate some time to solve a new puzzle together. This will add to the fun memory he has with the toy. Just like any activity, you will have more fun doing it if you can associate it with wonderful memories.
  5. Invite some of his friends to play jigsaw puzzles pieces at your house. Solving it with friends is also fun. You can do several group activities with the kids. You can develop mechanics that will involve the use of the puzzles. Group the kids into two. Each group will have a similar image to solve. The first team who can complete the puzzle wins. This is just an example. You can jazz up the mechanics depending on what you want the kids to do. There are many creative ideas that you can apply.
Solving puzzles does not have to be boring. All you need is a creative idea to introduce the activity to your child. It can be interactive. You can play with your child or invite some of his friends over. You can also use simple and familiar illustrations .The use of such images will make it easier for your child to relate to it. This will also encourage him to play with it more often.
